The RIMC Exam for admission to 6th and 9th classes in the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun for the July 2023 term will be taking place at the selected centers in the country in the first week of December. Rashtriya Indian Military College is an Inter-Service Institution established by the Ministry of Defence. The College was established in the year 1992 with the primary aim of preparing the boys for entry into the Defence Services and providing a quality all-around education to young boys.

Eligibility RIMC Admission 2023:
For Class 6th – No previous qualification is necessary.
For Class 8th – The students must have completed (pursuing) 7th Class from a private or a govt. certified school. Age as on 01 January or 01 July 2023.
Age: Min: 11.6 yr and Max: 13 yr
Scheme of Exam:
The exam comprises of:
- Written Exam: The written part of the exam will consist of 3 papers, i.e English (10 am to 2 pm) and Maths (2 pm to 3:30 pm) shall be held in the 1st week of December 2023 and General Knowledge Paper (10 to 11 am) on the next day. The minimum passing mark on each paper is 50%.
- Viva Voice: The interview date will be held on April 2023, and the interview will be held for only those boys who qualify for the written exam, Minimum passing mark in the interview is 50%, and the date and venue for the interview will be intimated to them by respective State by 1st week of Mar 2023. The intelligence and personality of the applicants will be tested in the interview.
- Medical Exam: All the applicants qualified after the interview will undergo a medical test at selected Military Hospitals and only those applicants who are found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC. The medical exam of the candidates forms only a part of the system of selection and does not imply the final selection.
Exam Centres: Exam centers are generally located in the state capitals or in towns as advertised.
Fee Details:
The fee at RIMC is heavily subsidized by the Central Govt. The fee is presently Rs.42400 per year. It may be increased from time to time. At the time of entry, a Security Deposit of Rs. 20000 is to be deposited. There are few states where the state Government grants scholarships to students. The scholarship amount varies between Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- annually.
Admission Process (How to apply?):
The prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers can be obtained from RMC, Garhi Cant, Dehradun, Uttarakhand-248003 via speed post by forwarding the self-addressed slip and an account payee bank DD (Demand draft) of Rs. 600/- for General Candidates Rs.555/- for SC/ST candidates along with cast certificate.
The demand draft will be made in favor of “Commandant RIMC Dehradun”, Drawee Branch, State Bank Of India, Tel Bhavan, Dehradun, (Bank Code-01576), Uttarakhand
