- As per the draft, the new regulator will replace the two statutory bodies governing higher education in Homeopathy and Indian systems of medicine.
- The AYUSH ministry, in consultation with NITI Aayog, has proposed new formulated bill.
- This enables AYUSH practitioners to practice modern medicines and vice versa after undergoing a “bridge course”.
- It is aimed at replacing the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH).
- The bill also calls for AYUSH National Teachers Eligibility Test to bring in quality teachers.
- The AYUSH National Teachers Eligibility will be conducted for the appointment of all teachers in AYUSH institutions.
- From the next session (2023) NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) is mandatory for Ayush Admission/Examination.
- The draft also calls for a licentiate exam which all medical graduates will have to clear to get practicing licenses.
Currently two statuary bodies, the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH)–are set up as per the provision of the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970, and the Homeopathy Central Council Act, 1973, respectively.

Ayush TET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
Education qualification:
- Those Applicants who have done PG (MD/MS) are eligible in Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha.
- Those Applicants who have passed PG (MD Y/N) or Graduation in (BNYS) with five years are also eligible to apply.
Age limit:
- Applicants Participate in SRF their higher age limit is 32 years.
- Applicants Participate in JRF their higher age limit is 25 years.
- Those applicants who belong to the reserved category are obtaining a relaxation of 5 years.
How to apply for Ayush TET 2023?
- Applicants must browse the official portal of All India Ayush i.e www.aiia.co.in to register themselves for the exam.
- The registration form shall only be filled & submitted via online mode.
- All candidates before filling out the registration form should gather all the necessary information with complete important documents like a photograph soft copy, signature scan copy, debit /credit card details, educational history, & internship details, etc.
- The registration process shall be done in 3 steps i.e., application, filing the registration form & paying the registration fee.
Application fees:
- The application fee for general category candidates is Rs 500.
- The application fee for Reserved categories such as SC/ST/ PWD is Rs 250.
- Applicants can pay the application fee through on-line mode. online mode such as debit/credit/NET banking.
