The examination consists of three stages – Preliminary examination, Mains examination, and Interview.

  • Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination is the first stage of the Assistant Conservator of Forest/Range Forest Officer Services Examination. It consists of two papers – General Studies I and General Studies II. General Studies I includes questions related to Indian Polity, Indian Economy, History, Geography, etc. General Studies II includes questions related to Logical Reasoning, Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills, etc. The duration of each paper is 2 hours, and each paper carries 200 marks.

UP PCS Eligibility 2023:

To be eligible for the UP PCS exam, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  2. Age Limit: The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 40 years on 1st July of the year in which the notification for the exam is issued. However, there is age relaxation for certain categories as per government norms.
  3. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
  4. Other Requirements: The candidate should have a sound mind and good health. Also, they must not have any criminal charges pending against them.
