Interested and eligible candidates can apply online. Odisha TET Application form will be available soon. OSSTET 2023 (Odisha Secondary School Teachers Eligibility Test) :
Educational Requirement-
- Must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must be able to read and write in Odia.
- Candidate must have passed HSC (Class 10th) Exam conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or an equivalent exam with Odia as a language subject i.e. First/ Second or Third Language.
- Candidate must have passed (10+2/) Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha with Odia as an examination subject.
- Candidate must have passed Odia Examination of HSC/ 10th Standard Single Subject Examination conducted by the B.S.E., Odisha.
- In case the candidate desire to be a language teacher like Hindi/ Classical Teachers (Sanskrit/ Telugu/ Urdu), passing the Odia Examination of 07th Standard conducted by B.S.E., Odisha shall be allowed.
The examination will be conducted into categories:
- Category I:– Education Teachers (Trained Graduate Teachers in Science/ Arts,
Hindi/ Classical Teacher (Sanskrit/ Urdu/ Telugu). - Category II:- Physical Education Teacher.
Exam Details:
Mode of OSSTET Exam: Offline (Objective type question)
Number of marks in Paper I: 550
Number of marks in Paper II: 60
Compulsory Subject in Paper I: English and Odia
Time duration of Each Exam: 02 hours 30 min
Except for the Language-specific exam, the question paper will be in English only.
Structure of Examination-
- In OSSTET Exam, there will be two papers: Paper-I and Paper II.
- Candidates having eligibility and training qualifications as per instruction have to
appear in Paper –I and Paper II of the Examination. - The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- All questions will be MCQ type each carrying one mark.
- There will be Four Sections in each paper.
- In section-I, Language I, Odia will be compulsory for all categories of posts.
- In section II, Language II, English will be compulsory for all categories of posts.
- In section III, under stream TGT (Arts) and TGT (Science for both PCM & CBZ), the
questions will be in English. - The questions in other streams like Classical Teacher (Sanskrit/ Telugu/ Urdu) and Hindi Teacher will be in their respective languages.
- The questions in Section III for Paper II (Category-II- Physical Education Teacher) shall be from the contents of C.P.Ed. Course and shall be in English.
- In Section IV the questions in Child Development, Pedagogy, School Management and
The evaluation shall be in English and Compulsory for both categories. - No negative marking.

Qualifying Marks:
- The minimum pass mark in each paper is 60%.
- A candidate securing 60% or more in each paper shall be considered to have qualified OSSTET.
- In the case of SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates, the minimum pass mark will be 50% marks.
- The OSSTET Pass Certificate shall remain valid till the candidate reaches the upper age limit as per the given notification.
