Eligibility Requirements:

For Class I to V (Paper 1):

The candidates must have completed the class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks with Diploma in Elementary Education (02 yr D.EL.Ed) pass/appearing.
Candidates must have passed from Class 12th with at least 50% marks with a B.Ed degree (pass/appearing)

For Class VI-VIII (Paper 2):

The candidates must pass B. Sc./ B. Com/ B. A. with D.EL.ED/B.Ed degree.

JK TET 2023 Syllabus and Pattern:

The Department of School Education of Jammu and Kashmir has set the pattern for the exam. The pattern of the exam is as follows:

The question paper will contain objective-type papers.
The time duration is two and a half hours
One question will carry only 1 mark
There will be no negative markings on the exam paper.

Paper 1:

Child Development and Pedagogy
Language I
Language II
Mathematics
Environmental Studies

Paper 2:

Child Development and Pedagogy
Language I
Language II
Now, the optional part of the paper is as follows:
Mathematics/Science
Social Studies

Note: candidates need to score a minimum of 60 % marks either in Paper 1 or Paper 2.
