About The Show:
Essel Vision Productions is the creator and producer of Dance India Dance, an Indian Hindi-language reality television series that airs on Zee TV. It is also known by the abbreviation DID, with the tagline “Dance Ka Asli ID D.I.D.” It made its debut on January 30, 2009. In this case, Mithun Chakraborty was referred to as Grand Master (until season 6), and the judges are named Masters.
Season 7 debuted with an alternative idea. This program is a reimagining of the 2007 Bengali television series Dance Bangla Dance. Zee TV recreated Dance Bangla Dance for participants from all around India following three successful seasons of the show.
The format of the show is as follows: dancers from various styles participate in open auditions held in major Indian cities to display their styles and talents; if selected to proceed, they are then put through mega-audition rounds of auditions to gauge their versatility.
Following the mega audition, the top 18 dancers are selected as finalists and proceed to compete in the main phase of the competition. There, they will showcase a variety of solo, duet, and group dance numbers to win over viewers’ votes. This vote, along with the input of a panel of judges, will determine which dancers, week by week, will move on to the next round.

DID 2024 Selection Process:
The selection process can be divided into two stages: the Open Auditions and a second phase known as the Mega Auditions.
The Open Auditions take place in 5 to 6 major Indian cities and are typically open to anyone aged between 15 & 30 at the time of audition. During this stage, dancers perform a brief routine before three judges. If the dancer impresses the masters with his/her dancing abilities, the masters award a Hat called Taqdeer Ki Topi (aka Hat of Destiny), moving them ahead in the competition.
The second stage is the Mega Auditions, is a several-day-long procedure in which the 100 fortunate applicants are tested for overall well-rounded danceability, and their ability to perform under pressure. At the end of this procedure, only the top 36 competitors are chosen.
