The Union Health Ministry is trying to notify the NEET-PG exam as the exit exam for MBBS students which may replace the myriad university-level exams in which MBBS students have to appear before they begin practicing medicine.

The ministry also has been planning to replace the screening tests for FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates) with the NEET-PG exam. So the NEET-PG exam from this year onwards may become the only test in which MBBS graduates need to appear to continue as a practitioner in the field of Medicine.
